Dr. Santhi Periasamy is a licensed psychologist (License # 33429) in private practice located in Houston, Texas. Dr. Periasamy received a Doctoral degree from an APA accredited training program in Counseling Psychology at Georgia State University in Atlanta. She also received a Masters of Science in Rehabilitation Psychology and Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Periasamy received a B.A. in both Psychology and English from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Dr. Periasamy completed her APA accredited pre-doctoral internship at The University of Akron’s Counseling, Testing, and Career Center. She completed her post-doctoral hours as the Multicultural Fellow at the APA accredited University of Houston’s Counseling and Psychological Services. Dr. Periasamy worked at the University of Houston’s counseling center as a Psychologist I/Group Coordinator until August 2007. Dr. Periasamy currently works part-time at Texas Woman’s University’s Houston campus Counseling Center.

Dr. Periasamy has worked with individuals in various settings including medical facilities, prisons, schools and university counseling centers. Dr. Periasamy has worked in urban non-traditional counseling centers and has extensive experience working with individuals balancing several components in their lives. Dr. Periasamy is trained as a generalist in counseling psychology and has been providing therapy in various settings for approximately 21 years. Dr. Periasamy has primarily worked with individuals from 18-65 years old and has treated various presenting issues, including but not limited to depression, eating and body image concerns, PTSD/trauma, anxiety, academic and career difficulties, multicultural/diversity concerns, family conflicts, difficult life transitions, intimate relationship challenges, and substance issues.

Dr. Periasamy enjoys cooking, reading fiction, attending art performances, traveling, and keeping in touch with family and friends in her free time.
